NCTA and City of Curtis have partnered together to host an in person pruning workshop with the Nebraska Forest Service. The workshop will begin in the classroom for a one hour lecture which will be followed by a guided hands on pruning exercise on various species across NCTA campus. Chrissy Land and Justin Evertson with NFS will be the instructors for the workshop.
The hands on activity will focus on the structural pruning decision process. This will involve ground pruning, the use of a pole saw/lopper, and different styles of hand saws. Attendees can bring eye protection, gloves, hand saws, pruners, loppers, and other pruning equipment. NFS will have pruning equipment on hand for use as well.
The day will start at 8:45 AM with a light snacks and check-in, the lecture will start at 9:00 AM with the hands on activity to follow. We should be done by 12:30 PM at the latest.
